What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, brain-training method that helps your brain learn to function more efficiently (respond to life rather than react to it). It works by measuring your brain’s electrical activity (brainwaves) in real time and providing feedback that helps your brain naturally shift toward healthier, more balanced patterns.
The brain can get stuck in patterns shaped by chronic stress, trauma, poor sleep, long-term nervous system overload, or attention challenges. Neurofeedback helps by giving your brain real-time feedback so it can adjust and move toward balanced, calm, and regulated patterns.
What to Expect During a Neurofeedback Session
Your first appointment starts with an assessment and focuses on getting to know you and how your brain is functioning right now. We’ll talk about your goals, symptoms, sleep, stress, and focus, and then we’ll work together to complete a neurofeedback assessment to understand your brainwave patterns. After the assessment, we’ll have a personalized training plan based on your brain’s needs.
During a typical session, you’ll sit comfortably while small sensors are placed on your scalp to read brain activity. You’ll watch a screen or listen to music while your brain receives real-time feedback that helps it move toward more balanced patterns.
Nothing is put into your brain and we don’t force change. We are only measuring and training your brain to spend more time in a more balanced and flexible state.

What Can Neurofeedback Support?
People commonly seek neurofeedback for support with:
- Chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation
- Symptoms of anxiety and emotional overwhelm
- Sleep challenges
- Focus and attention difficulties
- Trauma-related symptoms
- Mood regulation
- Brain fog and cognitive fatigue
Because every brain is unique, neurofeedback training is personalized to your specific brain patterns and goals.
How Many Sessions Are Recommended?
While every brain is different, most people complete 20–40 sessions for meaningful and lasting change, and afterwards, people sometimes complete regular ‘maintenance’ sessions 1-2x a month to keep the brain balanced.
Some clients begin noticing subtle shifts within the first 6–10 sessions, while deeper, more stable changes typically build over time with consistent training.
Your training plan is always tailored to your goals, symptoms, and how your brain responds during the process. Neurofeedback is a training process, so changes usually happen gradually.
Clients often notice:
- Better sleep
- Less stress reactivity and less ruminating
- Clearer thinking and focus
- Feeling calmer and more like themselves
From Survival Mode to Living
When your brain is more balanced and flexible, it’s functioning more efficiently. You think more clearly, you’re able to regulate your emotions, sleep more deeply, and respond to life instead of react to it.
Neurofeedback supports your brain’s natural ability to regulate so you can feel more like yourself again.
